Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, born April 26, 1991 often referred to professionally by the name Ari Lennox, hails from Washington, D.C. and is the first female artist to sign with J. Cole's Dreamville Records label. In October 2016 Ari Lennox debuted her debut EP Pho. The EP was where she gained recognition. Shea Butter Baby her debut studio release was May 7th 2019. Ari Lennox posted her music to the internet in 2012, when she dropped her the Five Finger Discount mixtape and Ariography EP in 2013. In 2014, Ari Lennox dropped her single Bound, as well as her self-released mixtape Five Finger Discount. In the year 2015, she performed in Omen's Elephant Eyes album on Sweat it out on July 21st. J. Cole, who was part of the Dreamville crew at that time and wanted her to perform on Rihanna references. On December 8 it was revealed that she had signed to Dreamville Records.
